Terms & Conditions:

 The contract

By contracting with GreatCopy, you confirm that you’ve been given the opportunity to read my terms and conditions, and that you agree to be bound by them.

The contract is made between us when you formally commission my services in writing, accept my quotation and provide me with a full creative brief for the job.

The service

My goal is always to fulfil your requirements completely from the brief.

Within the agreed timescales, I’ll provide you an initial draft to review. Often, this will hit the mark first time.

If you have any feedback or comments, I’ll incorporate these into a second draft and send it to you for signoff, again within an agreed timescale.

If there are further small amends, I’ll apply them in a third draft too. This is all part of the agreed quotation.

It’s unlikely, but if there are significant or excessive rewrites required, I reserve the right to make reasonable extra charges, especially if these are due to significant changes to the creative brief along the way. I’ll always discuss this with you directly before applying any extra charges for any more work.

The payment

I don’t charge VAT.  I’ll invoice each job once I’ve sent you the final version of the copy and I know you’re happy with it.

Please make payment within 14 days of the invoice date by bank transfer. I can also accept cheques and PayPal if you prefer.  A service charge of £25 will be added to invoices outstanding after 30 days.

For larger projects, I reserve the right to charge a deposit of 50% of the total cost, payable before I write anything.

The copyright

The copyright ownership of all material produced by GreatCopy remains with me until I’ve received your full payment for the job.  Once you’ve paid in full, the copyright passes to you.

I do reserve the right to publish samples of the work on this website or in any other promotional material once you’ve used it yourself and it’s in the public domain.

I’ll include a link to your website to send some extra custom your way too, unless you tell me you’d rather I didn’t.

Confidentiality

I’ll make every effort to protect any confidential company material and information that you provide to me, and I won’t disclose it to any third parties or make use of it in any other way. For further peace of mind, if you’d like me to sign a more formal confidentiality agreement, just let me know.

Indemnity

I take great care and pride in my work, but I can’t be held liable for any loss or damage suffered by you or any third party as a result of the use or reproduction of the copy I’ve supplied to you. Also, you agree to indemnify GreatCopy in respect of any claims, damages or costs arising in any manner from its use or reproduction. Basically, by using the copy I’ve created, you agree to take full responsibility for any issues which may arise.

Applicable Law

This agreement is governed by the laws of Scotland.

Cancellation

If you commission me to start work and subsequently want to cancel the job before I’ve finished it, I’ll make a reasonable charge based on the amount of work I’ve already completed for you. I’ll always be as flexible and realistic as possible, but I reserve the right to charge up to 100% of the total cost of the job if necessary if you decide to cancel.

Variation

These terms and conditions can’t be varied, except by prior agreement in writing from me.
